This website was set up to address the needs of students, parents and teachers who are looking for high quality, low cost resources for learning and teaching mathematics.

In a modern technological world, mathematics is becoming ever more important for students if they want to be successful in higher education and in getting a rewarding and fulfilling career. With computers being the definative number crunching machines it makes sense to learn maths on one.

The key to succeeding in higher mathematics is understanding the concepts of mathematics early. Most people learn maths by rote, they learn the times tables, to carry the one in addition, and to use BODMAS when doing Algebra. While the rules give them a way to solve problems, being able to visualise the problem, see patterns and juggle the figures is what really allows the mathematician to understand what is happening.

Einstein had remarkable vision. E=mc² is probably the most famous of all scientific equations. Maths is simply an abstraction of reality. But it can allow us to describe reality more accurately than words. A photo or movie on a computer screen is just a matrix of numbers. All a computer does is add numbers and compare numbers and yet we can use it to communicate images, sounds and words with people in ways never dreamed of a hundred years ago.

We try to provide solid learning outcomes with our content as well as make maths less of a chore and more enjoyable. While games and colourful movies help make the content more interesting, the key to enjoying maths is understanding what is going on.
